so is there anything else that i could use to have an optical output from my laptop to a "something" and from there to 4 speakers ?
I'm not after SQ, or SPL i just want to hear some music from my cappc, (and no dash unit is accepted coz i do not have anymore room in the dash because of the 8" TFT)
PS: that performance tecknique looks grate but i could not find one (in a shop that have them ready to ship, most of them list it but do not have it anymore)

nope
what you're wanting is the same thing that hundreds of people have been wanting for the past few years. hopefull, some day a manufacturer out there will see the need for such a product, but currently, there's nothing out there.

I beg to differ. It looks pretty well-designed to me. BTW, the amp I recommended can be found here. I've had it for a long time now, and it hasn't given me any problems.

I'll have to make my way across the "Falls" and see your set-up sometime. I haven't installed my PT ICBM 5.1 yet and could use some pointers on setting it up and config'ing it. Nice to see another vender for this. I wonder how his supply for the IR remote control is.

Pretty old thread. Thought I'd bump it to see if there's anything new, as I'm helping a mate plan his carpc and an amp with optical inputs would probably be the best way to do it.

Two sources, Both 5.1.. One AMP?
Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help me..
I have a 5.1 pioneer setup in my car and would like to add a 5.1 hdd media player to the system and would like to use 5.1 sound from both sources from my head unit and the hdd player, after a little thinking I came up with a solution as follows:
If I was to buy a multi channel amplifier with both 5.1 rca input and optical input and was to connect the hdd to the amplifiers optical and the video to my pioneer unit I would have 5.1 sound but heres the part I'm not to sure about.... now my pioneer unit has a 5.1 rca output if I was to connect the 5.1 output to the amplifiers 5.1 rca input I should now have both sources 5.1 the hdd will be connected via optical and my pioneer avh systems 5.1 will be connected via 5.1 rca now all I should be doing is switching the source from the amplifier remote to listen to which ever one I prefer.
Does anyone think otherwise?? or will this work?
and most importantly which amplifier has this connectivity 5.1 rca input and optical input?
and where can i get one from?
Thanks in advance folks.
