5.1 Center Channel Speaker Options

These were pulled from the November 2006 Car Audio & Electronics.

Jensen JCCSPK - $40

This non-amplified 2-way speaker features a universal mounting bracket for ease of installation. Its 3/4" silk dome tweeter teams up with a 2 3/4" by 1/2" paper woofer with a cloth surround.

Pioneer TS-CX7 - $100

This easy-to-mount center channel features a 2 1/4" full range speaker with a Kevlar fiber composite cone, butyl rubber surround, and magnetically shielded neodymium magnets. The sealed enclosure includes all mounting hardware.

Alpine SBS-05DC - $160

With a clean single-DIN design, this center channel fits easily into the dashboard. It combines a soft-dome tweeter at the center between two larger speakers, both topped off with a removable grille.

Kenwood KSC-510CTR - $200

For extra power, this center channel solution includes a hide-away power amplifier along with the 2" pulp-cone woofer. Features include input sensitivity and an RCA input.

Kenwood KSC-310CCS

Clarion SRK5 - $200

This half-DIN center channel fits all DIN and 1/2-DIN installation kits and comes with a 50-watt amplifier. The unit includes two 1" rear-mounted speaker ported to the front and five 3/4" fullrange speakers in a sealed enclosure.

Eclipse E505 CSP
- $200 (anyone find this on the Eclipse website?)
A built-in 20-watt power amplifier boosts this center channel speaker's impact . The small enclosure mounts on the dash to perfectly complement an Eclipse surround system.

Any additional?

So those are fairly small and would be mounted on the front dash? That seems interesting.. I've tried to get my center channel to actually sound like it is coming from the center, but it is coming about 3-4 inches from the center of my car

Thumbs up

Nice compilation Red. Although you're not a strong proponent of the 5.1 config systems, it's nice to see you made a complete list like this. Only one I wasn't aware of was the Eclipse unit.
I'm still trying to find 3.5" speaker grilles somewhere for my MBQ's that will be mounted in the centre console (a rare thing it appears).
