help please!!! swapping cd-unit from stock HU

hi guys, need help with this:
i have just purchased a new car (opel corsa- european - GM make)
unfortunately the stock HU features cd player with no mp3 capability
and that is very very bad. I like to listen a lot of music, and it's not nice to
cary and keep swapping a pile of cd's ....
the stock HU is a Delphi-Grundig unit named CD30
I have dismantled it wanting to find some connectors for aux in but with no luck
I doesn't have Aux-in
So ---- my plan is:
I want to swap the cd-unit with another one- mp3 capable this time
from the Unit's amp and controller bord comes out a 14 pin connector&cable to the cd reader unit placed below the amp board....
I purchased an aftermarket Delphi Grundig cd-player with mp3 with the hope that it has the same 14 pin conector and just swap the cd drive.
But the new drive connects to it's amp board with a 16 pin connector adn cable.
The new unit I bought has the pins described and noted on the amp board so it great that at least I know the pins on the new drive. Out of the 16 pins 3 are ground and one is no connect so there are basically 13 pins active.
So How do I figure out and connect the new cd drive in the old and stock HU
The pins on the stock HU are not noted so how do I find out which is which?
the original HU's cd drive is a Philips CDM-M6 4.8/31 so I guess that it's Mbus compatible cause of the "M" in the CDM M6.....
So anyone?! Help!!! I want to keep the new HU because of it's integrated faceplate in the dash....
Please help
the pins....

Moved to the Car Audio forum.

This forum is dedicated to CarPCs and installing them in your car.

The car audio forum is dedicated to integrating your car audio system with your CarPC.

For specific questions related to car audio equipment systems that do not include CarPCs, I would recomend checking out car audio specific forums:

http://www.elitecaraudio.com
http://www.carsound.com
http://www.caraudioforum.com
http://forum.sounddomain.com
http://www.realcaraudio.com
http://www.carstereo.com
http://www.caraudiomag.com
http://www.termpro.com
http://www.the12volt.com
http://www.talkaudio.co.uk
http://www.caraudiosecurity.com
et. al.

There is a chance that someone on here might have an answer for you, I would just hate for you to wait around for it when I know you could get an answer much quicker on a dedicated forum.

Good luck.

as DP suggested you might want to find a local forum for your problem, OPELs are not circulated in U.S, and majority amount of members are U.S north American residents,

try digital-car.co.uk , you might find answer there

forum

I will try other forums also
But the problem is actually related to databus protocol and pin layout
Even if the car is european made
the Mbus pin layout may be similar to others, so maybe someone knows or has allready found a method of testing and recognizing the pins for the data bus, audio channels(which is simpler) and other pins that are necessary for the communication between the cd-unit and the amp board.
So maybe someone allready thought of using the connector that connects the standard cd drive to the HU and use that to connect other sources as Aux-in or cd changers
Help is apreciated

While you may very well be correct, it has nothing to do with an in-car computer, hence these forums aren't the best source for a solution for your issue.

Good luck!
