Alpine CDA-9857 to control PXA-H701 Processor?

I've just got off the line with Alpine Technical.

It is not possible for the 9857 to control the 701.

Why do I get an impression from this thread that it's possible?

I'm confused. Anyone gotten this combination to work?

Cheers

First of all, the FAQ subforum is for INFORMATIONAL POSTS ONLY. It's where people go to look for answers, not ask questions. I moved this thread to the Car Audio forum.

Second of all, you're posting repeatedly due to newbie posting restrictions. Please post once. If it doesnt' show u0p, a moderator will approve the post in short order.

I would assume that Alpine knows what they are talking about

Looks like all the buttons can be made red, but not the display.

Refering to just changing the color of the buttons

Refering to the DVD and IVA units that were mentioned in the reply#140 of the post you were confused with. The DVD head units (DVI-9990, DVA-9965, and DVA-9861) you will still need the controler unless you have Alpines 7" touchscreen, then all controls of the 701 are supported by the DVD units.
