need help with Sirius Stiletto car kit

Hello all, I hope this site works out, boy do I have questions!
Question for today, Does any one know about the Sirius stiletto car cradle issue? It seems that the folks at directed electronics (the manufacturer.) figured we (the consumer) were too stupid to know when our car's battery was getting weak so they designed the cradle to shut off after 4 hrs. of inactivity. Since the home cradle doesn't suffer this DESIGN FEATURE I was hoping someone here has come up with a fix.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Well WarX, he might be someone like me and driving from say, New Jersey to Georgia, or Georgia to South Florida, two trips that take much longer than four hours.

no hammer yet!!

Thanks for getting my back on that one!!
I do spend the better part of 12 hrs/day in my truck WORKING, I also like to setup to record for weekends and while on vacations.
So any REAL help is appreciated and if we can't figure it out maybe then I'll try the hammer.

warx, you don't seem like the type to be posting with all your low tech ideas. I bet you still have a rotory dial phone, "hmm".
One of the main points of the stiletto is its technology. So why would I want to run out to my truck every 3-3.5 hrs for something that was advertised as a scheduled recording capability? Maybe while I am out of town this weekend I can get YOU to run over and tweak my dial every 3.5 hrs, what do you think??

okay, so you didn't explain that at all. You said you work IN your car for more than 4 hours at a time. Now if you explained that you use the car cradle for work purposes while not BEING in the car, that would be a whole different thing. I just assumed you were a taxi driver driving around all day so that you would have direct access to the unit. Now i didn't know that you might work as a ionno construction worker who has a portable radio that catches the fm frequency from the transmitter. That's a WHOLE different thing. Thanks for elaborating.

By the way, i sold car electronic **** for 3 years at circuit city, as their senior, no one in this area knows more about car electronics than me. But the reason i go on these forums is because the intelligence level is higher than my local area. I'm pretty much trapped between MA/NH.

*edit*
and low tech ideas, as long as they work. If you can't solve the problem the correct way, go with the most basic solution that works.

Someone posted that you could just hardwire it to constant 12v it would stay on... i say worst case scenario, use your home kit w/ a power inverter... that would work, but that's mickey mousing everything.
