Anyone have any experience with Blueskin (to use as sound dampener)

Hi.

I was looking for Peal n Seal, but I couldnt find any (I live in Calgary, Canada). The closest thing that I found that might be a potential sound dampender is Bakor Blueskin. It is fairly thick and dense, plus its sticky too. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this material? I am mostly concerned that it might stink up my car. Doing some Googling tells me this material is made of "rubberized asphault," whatever that means.
