Aftermarket head unit NO SOUND

I ordered a touch screen with VGA/radio/built-in AMP weeks ago. When I installed on my BMW E36, I found that there was no sound from the speakers but head unit powered on. I was told that BMW OEM AMP will not work with after market head unit. I checked the AMP, there are two groups of wire attached to AMP. I believe one group comes from OEM head unit and the other one goes to speakers. Can I bypass the AMP and hook up two groups of wire directly? Or there is a solution to keep using the OEM AMP?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Apologize for my English if I made any mistake or confusion.

Yes it is possible to bypass the factory amp, you may need to run new lines either directly to the speakers or to where all of the speaker wires are centralized at the amp and use filtering caps. But if you are not planing on integrating a computer in that setup, you may want to check out a different web-forum dedicated to car audio, or a bmw specific website.

When I said filltering Capicators, I could have said "pasive crossovers". For instance, the radio puts out a full-range sound, whereas the tweeters can only handle higher frequencies. Allowing a full-range sound to go to the tweeters can and will damage them because of the bass frequencies. And with a pasive crossover to block the mid to low bass, you protect your tiny tweeters.
