I would take it that these would be the stared features:

Toslink-to-mini optical adapters installed
24-bit Analog-to-Digital conversion of analog inputs at 96kHz sample rate
24-bit Digital-to-Analog conversion of digital sources at 96kHz to analog 7.1 speaker output
24-bit Digital-to-Analog conversion of stereo digital sources at 192kHz to stereo output

Seems like creative got beat at their own game, so they figured they better selll them the processor chips so that they don't lose out on marketshare. I'm purely guessing at that though.

Only one swappable opamp socket? I think it's geared more for HT use or 2 channel high quality stereo.

Also, Auzentech is teaming up with Sondigo. Looks like Auzentech is big player now. I can;t wait to see what they come up with down the road.

Red-Did they ever get back to you on their driver interface for the X-meridian? Are they going to offer a Directwire like interface? I know you have been busy, just curious.

Back when I asked them they said they didn't have any intentions at that time but wouldn't rule it out in the future...that's all I know as of now.
