Help Me Get Some Thump!

HEY IM NEW TO THE SITE

AND PROBABLY KNOW THE LEAST ABOUT CAR ELECTRONICS THEN ANYONE IN HERE. SO PLEASE HELP ME... I HAVE A 2006 CHEVROLET COBALT AND REALLY WANT TO HOOK UP MY SYSTEM WITHOUT TAKING OUT THE FACTORY CD PLAYER BUT AFTER EXAMINING THE BACK OF IT FOUND THERE IS NO RCA CABLE JACKS!!!

IS THERE A WAY TO HOOK IT UP??? PLEASE HELP!

I can help you out. Your going to want to buy what is called an Inline Converter. It will splice into the rear deck spears and pull the rca's off of them.

You can get them for like $50ish or a cheap one on ebay. But be fair warned the cheaper the product the crapier the qaulity of the sound is going to be. If your wanting really clean sounding subs or speakers a converter is not the correct route.

As for hooking up the rest of the system its just like normal. Add the Power Wire, Ground the amp, run a remote wire either to a switch or buy a fuse tap and you can run it to the Sun roof Fuse if your cobalt is an SS or an LT because that fuse is only "hot" when the acc power is on.

You'll need an Inline Converter to pull the RCA signal off the back speakers.

Turn your caps lock off please. It's hard to read and is the internet equivelant to "shouting".

Are you trying to hook up a computer to your head unit or your head unit to an amp?

This site is more about computers, but if you are trying to hook up an amp, you can send the speaker wires to the "line level" in connection on the amp.

If you're trying to run a computer to your original factory head unit without RCA in, that's a little different..........

They gotcha covered. Splice into the rear speaker wires on each side, then run those inputs either to the speaker level (hi level) inputs on the amp, or through a line out converter (LOC) and then into the regular RCA-style line level inputs on the amp. Then connect the subs to the amp and maka the boom boom.
