Where to find basic reading on amps?

I really don't want an amplifier. I want to replace my HU with a screen though, so I guess I will need one. I guess I would like to also put a small sub in, so maybe it will be a good thing.

I don't know anything about amps, and I don't want to learn all of the extreme details, because like I said, I just need the absolute basics. Where can I find a resource that explains the basics of amps, amp terminology, and recommendations for particular systems?

Thanks
Erock

I'd recommend www.the12volt.com Go to the "Basic" section (upper left-hand corner) and scroll down to find information on car audio.

Here is another one of my favorite links for the beginners. All the categories are on the right hand side.

Hey thanks for the links guys, I'm learning a lot. Do you guys know of any sites that review amplifiers? I usually look at Epinions for that sort of thing but there are very few reviews on there for some reason.

Thanks again

Maybe this will help.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/car-...ould-i-go.html

I strongly recommend you determine your requirements, I.E. power, size, budget, etc when shopping. If you know that then some of us might be willing to help you and steer you in the right direction. Otherwise there are tons of dedicated caraudio forums (there is a sticky in this subforum), many of which have review sections once you have narrowed downwhat you want.

www.crutchfield.com might have reviews when you are shopping.
