Noob witha problem...monsoon season:(

So I was all excited about the car pc I just picked up only to discover the pittfalls of the monsson system in my 2000 VW jetta. I have come sccross a few references to adapaters that can connect a carpc to the cd player in the trunk, but without removing the head unit I dont have a place for the 7" screen. How do other people deal with the monsoon problems? I dont have the $$ to replace the amp and all the speakers, maybe one or the other, but not both. HELP please!!!!

So, you just replaced the amp and sent the signal from the sound card to the new amp? The new amp pushed the OEM speakers fine?
