somthings wrong with my system

i can figure out wats wrong. the other day i got a 1000 watt sony xplod amp and a lightning audio 10'' and i had the mtx audio 10''. i hooked it all up with a wiring kit and then i turned the car on it started beating but when i went to turn it up for full bass the amp turns off and it gets really hot . i checked the ground wire and stuff it all seems to be ok . and now its turning off soon as i turn it on .(I NEED SOME HELP)

you wired the subs incorrectly (most likely) do a search on how to wire a sub (parallel vs. series)

Definitely true, your subs prob can't handle the resistance (ohms) that you're putting to them. They start overheating and the amp shuts down.

you got it a little mixed up. the amps can't handle the impedance of the subs, the amp starts to overheat and shuts down.

You're right, that's what i meant to say. I've been thinking about resistance all day (re-wiring my current system).
