wiring pinout for Pioneer DEH-P7200
I just bought a Pioneer DEH-P7200 from a pawn shop. I have the wiring diagram, but no wiring harness. Colors don't mean anything when I don't know what pin each color connects to.
The connector looks like a Molex Mini-Fit Jr. style connector. I can buy a connector and crimp pins from Digikey or Newark.
Can anyone describe the connector pin-out to me?
-thx,
CDion

It's a proprietary harness, you can order it from pioneer directly:
http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/...elNum=DEHP7200
specific part:
http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/...uctNum=CDE6291
it's 43 bucks plus shipping though. you might be able to find it elsewhere for less, but that's your job now.
BTW you are welcome for the spoon feeding, when you are ready to put a computer in your car (what this website is dedicated to) then come back and see us. There is more than enough information on these forums to support you with doing that.

Found it
I was able to find a repair manual for the DEH-P7000R free online, which had the pinout for the external connector on the circuit board. For less than a $9 order from Digikey, I'll build my own $43 harness.
-thx,

I found this forum by searching Google for information related to Pioneer radio pinout. I found the thread titled "Anyone have Pioneer deh-p4800mp pinout?" which received a prompt, respectful answer.
As for the spoon feeding, you've told me nothing that I hadn't already found prior to posting.
I THOUGHT that of any forum, this one should have someone who could do more with hardware than plug and play from pre-manufactured assemblies. ...and the connector is not 'proprietary' if it can be constructed from OTS parts, and repair manuals are available online or if someone has already cracked the pinout.

If you maybe took a minute to read through these forums, you would quickly find out that it's dedicated to putting computers in cars, and this sub-forum is to help those with the audio portion of that.
Here's the body of the sticky on this sub-forum:
Since the *300 series receivers (3300, 4300, etc.) came out it's been a proprietary connector, anything prior to that was before I got in the biz...
I really hope you didn't pay a lot for that deck since you can get a newer low-end premier deck that has more capability for pretty darn cheap on ebay. I'm wondering how long this old-a$$ deck will last.
I continue to vote for the short questionnaire that asks what this forum is about before posting anything.

The forum is called Car Audio and this is what the post was about, I don't see the reason for being jerk to somebody so new to the forums. Maybe they are planning on integrating a car system through their head unit.

Thanks for the confidence Nickwell. There are isolationist elitists in nearly every community of the US I've lived in (three states in 10 years, from the midwest, to the left coast, to the right coast), and in every online organization as well. It makes us feel both significant and secure to exclude others from our own little circles.
If any of the other car audio forums had the information I was looking for, they should have popped up in my Google searches. Sure, my post here was a fishing expedition, but good information isn't always in predictable locations. At least it was a car electronics question, and not one related to the gestational cycles of Australian Durocs.
Since I've found the answer to my original question, I'll bow out of here now.
Best regards, Nickwell.

Whoa, didn't mean to press that button, damn!
Someone got the dictionary out for this one. "isolationist elitists"? ooh, that one cut deep!
Isn't isolationism where a country tries to retain its complete independence by making policies that abate trade between their country and others as well as not entering into any military alliances?
Also, I thought that a basic instinct in humans was to be part of a group to retain the best chance at defense. (One guy vs. Tiger = a full tiger belly, ten dudes vs. tiger = ten full dude bellies...)
Lastly, I didn't know that there were any Australian Durocs, I thought the Duroc was an American breed of pig. Guess I just got schooled here.
My intentions weren't to dissuade you or isolate myself here. I found this website in a similar manner:

oh, and this further down the post:

calm down it's only the internet.
The problem (if it is a problem) is that mp3car has so much info and google has logged it. Whenever someone posts anything in this forum, it will eventually get picked up by google search bots and you will see it when searching for things. I see it all the time when i use google. MP3CAR has so much different info, it's likely to pop up in almost any search related to car audio.
Unfortunetly, the site is geared more towards those installing computers and not really HU's. There are many more sites out there that have much more car audio specific info, but we will get the occasional lost soul. I'm glad the OP found a solution.
