I am trying to build a carputer around my stock stereo because due to the design of the radio it is un-aesthetically pleasing to remove it. Secondly, I want the stock radio to be the main volume button and aside from that I will still like to retain the radio functionality.
My goal is to have an after market system that looks like it came directly from the car manufacture.
For those with Honda Accords know that the Factory Radio has an Auxiliary input for CD Changers, etc. So, with after market adapters such as but not limited to (
USA Spec/SHOND3/Soundgate/ETC) it can be transformed to accept Ipod inputs and other auxiliary inputs, also.
example here:

However, there are several problems with after market adapters, they are unreasonably costly(especially for my application; $80+) and they have the ipod integration, which i do not need because my audio source will be coming from the Carputer.
All suggestions and comments are welcomed. =)
