I have a 3 amplifier installation : front stereo / rear stereo / sub
My infill G4 don't have line outs to connect to the amps.
So I plan to buy a USB 5.1 or 4.1 sound card. eg: Turtle Beach Roadie...
The installer(pro but not for carputer) warn me about the output level of the soundcard to attack the amplifiers.
He would like something around 2v per channel.
As far as I understood (FAQ, ...), the SB audigy 2NX was claiming 2vrms !
The Turtle Beach and most of the other USB sound cards says nothing
The question is :
- Is there something basic I did not understood?
- Does the Turtle Beach powerfull enough.
- Which other USB ones should I consider ?
Thanks in advance
Alain
For info the current materiel is:
1 Infill G4
1 audison VR 404 XR (Front channel)
1 audison LR 435 (Rear Channel)
1 sony XM 5520 (Sub)
Also I found the documentation of the Audison (not the Sony one)
The VR404XR has an input sensitivity of 0,15 V ÷ 1,5 VRMS
The LR435 0,15 V - 1,5 V
The Sony I don't know
I would go with the SB audigy 2NX. It has 2v rms signal. I use the audigy 2nx for my setup. I have the sound card 2 ft away from my carputer which is mounted in the trunk area. Your systems is in the front of the car, which your going to have to run rca back to the amp.It would help if maybe if you got voltage booster to get the volt to at least 4-5volts since it further distance from front to back. If it was mounted in the trunk, can go from carputer right into the amps, less distance to travel for signal loss.It will still sound good w/ just the 2v to the back, but you would get a little better sound with card+ boosters.
