Delete CD changer but still need HU being able to switch to CD

i have '90 ls400 with in truck CD changer (Pioneer system) i want to install a carpc in place of the CD changer so i need to completely remove it from the trunk. however, I still need the stock HU for sound from the carputer. My carputer connects to stock HU via CD changer L+ L- R+ R- wires so I need the HU to be able to switch to CD WITHOUT CD changer connected.

I understand that once I push CD button, HU will check if there is a CD changer connected before switching to it. if it doesnt 'sense' the changer, it wont switch to CD mode

my question is, how the HU senses the CD existance, and how we can 'cheat' the HU (give it a signal) so that it switches to CD mode and sends sound from my carpc to speakers

i guess we should tape the serial signal wires: TXS- TXS+ TXM- TXM+ ...

thanks for any comments

Well, you are lucky that you have the CD changer. I'm not that so lucky with the matrix because there is no changer to play with. I have to do the hard way by splitting the built-in CD player to add aux input. Well, someone already did a very detail description of what you need to do.

well, I did mod my stock HU so that i can connect my iPod while keeping the CD changer. however, my CD Changer wont work any more so I want to remove it and install a carpc in that space. If the changer was still working, I would never think of deleting it.

hope you guys understand my question and need

This is your other option. It requires open up the HU and a soldering gun.
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/299397-post10.html. I used the CD signal line. Since you already did that to the changer, it wouldn't be that hard to do this mod. I don't remember the LS has single CD player, but I'm sure it has tape player (last time I drove my bro 90 LS was 5-6 yrs ago). You can do that on the tape signal. Do a search, many people already do this mod.

Obviously, thanatos106 already did that to his Nissan factory HU after screw up one HU. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/car-...io-nissan.html
