What are your favorite and best sounding recordings?
Well, so many of us have put together a pretty mean music machine for our ride, and not all cd recordings are created equal.
Here are some of my all-time favorite great cd's and recordings:
Steely Dan - Aja
Red Hot Chili Peps - By The Way and Stadium Arcadium
A Fine Frenzy - One Cell in the Sea
Seal - Greatest Hits 1991 - 2004 (in 5.1 Sound)
George Michael - pretty much anything
The Eagles - Long Walk out of Eden
So, howabout sharing you favorite and best recordings?
Happy CARPC' ing

Abacab - Genesis (both the song and the album)
Reservoir Dogs soundtrack
Linger Fickin' Good - Revolting Cocks
Express - Love and Rockets
Sounds of Science - Beastie Boys
Closer To The Edit, Peter Gunn Theme, Dragnet Theme - Art of Noise
Crystal Method - Vegas
Faith No More - Epic
Ministry - Psalm 69
Dink - Green Mind
Prince - Purple Rain
U2 - Under A Blood Red Sky
Yes - Classic Yes
That's a nice playlist that will keep you cruising for at least a couple fullt-tank fill-ups.

i'm sure you've heard about this, right:
I guess its the standard processes that most execs force on the artists. kinda blows

Ahhhh, I sooo miss L.A. and environs.
It really is something how there is such a difference in sound between recordings whan one finally gets a somewhat decent carpc sound system, huh?
An older Culture Club cd of 'Miss me Blind" or "Time (Clock of the Heart)" sounds better than so many current recordings.
Yep, Mark Knopfler (sp?) insisting on best qual digital really still shows. "Your Latest Trick" or "Why Worry?" are still islands of pure sound in an ocean of bombastic noize...
If you like Seal, you should really check out that greatest hits 2 or 3 cd set (depending if you get the 5.1 sound one). Even if you don't like his music, it has quite a nice sound. The acoustic versions are refreshing.
happy carpc'ing!

I'm a Tool - 10,000 days fan as well as A Perfect Circle - eMotive.
There's a lot of depth in these albums and being more heavy, it's an amazing thing to hear in a properly tuned car. Many cars can only reproduce soft music accurately, but throw in something a bit heavier and you're crying because your ears hurt.
Now, if I'm going to demo to a true audiophile, I pull out Dire Straits for sure. I have an entire CD case of nothing but demo CDs...not full albums, but demo CDs...like many in this sport.

Babyface is amazing that guy has had a hand in so many songs its incredible. Check this out.
The Day is a great album. Some songs on it that I like:
Every Time I Close My Eyes
All Day Thinkin'
Talk to Me
How Come, How Long (Stevie Wonder is in this also)
Speaking of Stevie Wonder put him on this list he has some great songs.
Oh and add Chicago ... if you get some good recordings of them they are amazing. Probably
my favorite band.

Damn this is a great thread ... Anyways thought of something else also. I'm not a big fan of them but they have one song that songs great. Firehouse "Don't treat me bad"
I like how it starts out just with just guitar and singing then drum kicks in sounds great on a good system.
