onboard audio

I have a question regarding onboard audio sound for my 05 rsx-s.

I have a msi motherboard which has a amd athlon xp 2500+, not sure if that matters.

I am wondering if the onboard sound will do fine as i am going to be splitting the audio into 3 outputs.

1. For speakers
2. For Amp
3. For HD Radio Audio

Will onboard be able to handle this or would i be better off getting an external 5.1 sound card. I would just rather do it right the first time

I could always try the onboard and if no good could then get an external card, but would rather save a trip if onboard is fine.

It sounds great on my pc speakers, but since car will be pushing more power with my amp would a external card be recommended?

Only you can be the judge if the onboard sound is "good enough". To me, it would be just fine. To the audiophiles on the forum, it would probably sound atrocious.

My suggestion is to try the onboard sound first and if it's suitable, then great if not, then you simply need to procure a sound card that meets your requirements.
