I've bought a new headunit and have everything wired and hooked up except the switch signal that hooks up to the ACC on the the back of the headunit. I guess its the line that goes to ground when the key is not turned in the ignition.

Anyway i noticed that the red/white sub output cables have another small wire running the along them that I had ignored before now. I assumed it was something to do with grounding and I ignored it.

Its a very thin piece of wire, can I used this to send the ACC signal to the sub to switch it on or off?

Thats exactly what it is for. It is the remote switch wire that turns on your amp. I put a thicker wire to do that, but what you have will work.

It connects to the amp and then on the receiver it connects to the blue wire with the white line on it. Then youre good to go!

While fbcbeer is right, I will add something. Your remote wire can be basically any gauge. Size doesn't matter as it's just a signal wire, it carries minute amount of current.

The reason why I went with a little bigger wire (18 guage) is because I didnt want the tiny signal wire between my RFosgate RCAs to kink and stop the signal at any point.


Either way will work great!

Went with the small gauge cable and it worked perfect!
