Unhappy Kenwood KDC-139 Aux Question

First all of all, long time reader, first time poster - love this place

I'm soon to begin my CarPC and just have a few questions regarding sound input.

I currently have a Kenwood KDC-139 with an aux in, no apparent aux in in the back panel, and detachable face - my question is am I forced to plug directly into the aux in on the front panel from the computer, or is it possible to solder some cabling on the PCB and run it out the back?

The idea of having it plugged in permanently seems a little unprofessional, and I'm trying to go for a OEM look.

Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

You would need to take a multi tester and see where which connection from the aux in goes to the head unit, you can do this by taking a stereo 3.5mm plug and putting it in , unscrewing the head unit and checking where the connection comes it, then you just solder wires for the ground and left right.

(unless the faceplate has some kind of preamp or makes the signal digital)

My only concern with the detachable faceplate is I can't just trace the wiring - how my voltage would I be looking for with a jack plugged in?

You don't, you put the meter on ohm ( resistance ) if you short it will display a resistance.

For example :
