Audio Hookup to Stock Speakers

Hi all,

I am planning a project and one of the questions i have is how would you hook up the stock harness to the PC?

Would youhave to split it up and then Wire up a mini RCA/ RCA Cables to it to wire it up to the onboard sound on the MB?

Normally, you need an amp between the pc and speakers....

If you are going with an amp, presumably mounted in the trunk, you would connect pc-> amp with rca, amp directly to speaker wires.

To connect to speaker wires you would have to run speaker cable from the trunk and either use a harness (like what you linked to) or splice directly to speaker wires in the stock head unit location.

You really have to define what you want. ie amp or not / new head unit with aux in etc...

Thanks for the info.

I don't want an amp unless i really need to have one.

I want to run the PC with a display in the dashboard and have it output sound into the stock speakers.

So the question is do i really need an amp?

Something needs to amplify your pc output, be it your headunit or an amp.

Think of your pc output the same as an ipod output, what would you need to connect an ipod to you headunit (which has an amp in it)?
