Question Tsunami X15HCAP-20 Farad Cap for Moto M120 2 way radio

Hey guys im not sure if this topics goes here. Anyways this is my problem. i have a motorola 2 way Mobile radio installed in my car. its in the Glove compartment of my Lincon town car, with is relatively close to the car's battery. That said i have 2 wires comming straight from my Yellow top battery, The Negative and the Possitive 2 Guage straight to the Motorola M120 radio. Now since the distance from the Battery is less than 4 feet from the Capacitor would be it fine if i I Installe the negative straight from the Negative Battery terminal to my cap.
