Look to use holes already going through the firewall. You will have some, somewhere in that car from other pieces of hardware wired to something in the passenger compartment.

Worst case, get a drill and make your own.

I assume you are looking for a hole to run a wire for your amplifer?

If so, it will depend on how large your wire is. I am using 0 awg, and I will need to be making my own hole.

Just be sure you are not drilling into anything important, and that the wire will be out of the way of anything.

Also be sure to place a rubber grommet in the hole so the wire does not get damaged.

Try looking where the cable that openes the hood passes through the firewall...

That will be a somewhat smaller hole. Not to mention that cable will most likely rub against any other wires placed in that same hole.

Bare metal wire rubbing against a wire connected directly to your battery = no no.

That depends from one car to another...for example, on my Renault, I was able to get a 2AWG through that particular hole, and the cable from the hood doesn't rub against it because it has a shield inside which is the actual cable that pulls the hood. The hole also has a rubber sorrounding so the cable doesn't rub against bare metal. Most cars I know (European ones) are exactly the same.

True. But it does depend on how big his power wire needs to be.

I have always made a new hole dedicated for the power wire only. Just feels more safe that way.

Assuming you have the room, that's the best way to do it.
