The amp is a JL Audio 500/1 amp and the subs are W6V2 drivers.

what made you decide to have separate enclosures instead of one?

Sound - The quality is amazing. In my brothers car I was used to pretty much only hearing bass (which has 2 JL subs, a **** amp, and a **** box). But this system. Sounds amazing. The bass to speaker ratio is perfect. Still hits hard as hell when I want it to. And you can still hear the music.
