Mac Mini + DAC = ?

Question for the professionals, aka, not me...

I am going to run a mac mini, using leopard (for now). I purchased the bloat DAC in the group buy, and am wondering what my best option will be. Would I be able to do all the processing in the computer, and not use crossovers (speakers are tentatively focal 130 kp's), or are there not many options while using leopard?

Thanks,

What setup would require me to not have crossovers? Two DAC's, one acting as front, one as rear?

well, if you're talking about going active you'd need a dac for every set of drivers that you have. i.e. one dac for tweets, one for the mids, and one for the subs. you could possibly get away with two. one for the tweets, one for the mids and subs as long as your amp has a good enough x-over to split out the sub-bass from the mid/midbass. this is all dependent that you can control the signal going to the dacs, not sure if that's possible on the mac as i haven't researched that...ever
