DAC, multiple outputs?
Hello,
I am using a VIA M10000 and looking at using a DAC to get sound to my two amps.
One amp is controlling my front left and right comp set (passive x-overs), another amp is just for the subs.
I would like to have a DAC go from the PC to each amp. Is this possible? Or do I need two DACs (One for each amp).
Is it possible to get a Bloat DAC with multiple RCA outputs?
(Trying to grasp my options).
Thanks!

Not sure if I'm completely getting your setup but I think I have something similar. I have a 5 channel amp that outputs to a crossover for my highs, mids, and sub. From the crossover goes to my dac which is then connected to the computer. I don't believe you would need more than one dac but that is just me..

there aren't any multi-chan dac's out there that i know of. well, they have multi chan ic's but not a dedicated dac. your best bet would be to go with a bloat or twisted pear dac into the stereo input of your amp, then use the amp's pre-outs to get the signal to the subs. the drawback is that you'll have to use the amp's x-overs but depending on your setup, it could be just fine

Hi Scott_fx,
Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time understanding. Are you saying, wire from the DAC to the 4ch amp then to the 2 channel amp?
Thanks,
Incudie

yup, what amp do you have? some amps will have a pre-out that will pass the original signal on to another amp. another option is just to get rca y-adapter that will give you two identical stereo ouputs as well.

-RCA inputs for four channels plus RCA throughput sockets
looks like you're good to go. nice amps btw...
hmm... if you're going the route of rainbow amps... what speakers are you going with?

That is what I've heard in the past... Active Crossover? How does that connect to the computer? Is that some kind Equalizer or are those completely different? (JUST finished sound deadening my passenger door...)

Ok doing a little more research... I *think* I would still need a DAC.
Would Go:
PC > DAC > Active Cross Over > Amps > Speakers
Or do active crossovers have some kind of DAC built in? (don't believe so).
Thanks

look into the behringer DCX2496 (what i have) or the alpine h701 (had this in my last setup) for a more streamlined solution
either will be perfect for mids, tweets and a sub.

Thanks
Thank you for the recommended main-stream devices. (looking at the manual for the DCX2496)
http://www.behringerdownload.de/DCX2...PECS_Rev_C.pdf
If I am reading this correctly, is there an S/pdif input?
I have a spdif port on my M10000, would that be any better or worse then using a bloat?
