Amps Recommendations

Hi,

I'm looking for a 2 Ch Amps for my 3 ways speakers. This is my current setup :

Winamp with OzoneMP Enhancer-->24 Bits USB DAC-->Rodek 7540 4 Ch Amps--> Dynaudio 340 (200W).

I'll only be running my Front Stage (Stereo). The tweeters & mids are mounted on the A pillars & woofers at the doors. Music are mainly 192~320kbps mp3.

I believe my weak link is the Rodek Amps (not sure about its RMS too). Would a decent amps help in my setup? Greatly appreciate any amps recommendations.

Cheers!

for dyn's you need a lot of power. i would look at something in the 150+ wrms range for the 3 ways. look into zapco, xtant or butler. i have had experience with all of these and can recommend them w/o hesitation. I have an audison amp right now waiting installing in my suv but this will be my first experience with that brand, worth checking into due to there solid rep.

your weak link could also be installation. how are the speakers aimed? did you deaden the doors? did you seal off any big holes in the door? have you eq'ed your system?

Rodek was a solid amp line, made rated power and fairly reliable.. I remember having a couple of them 10 years ago or so..

Is That one you have is 4x75w?

As always, install is most important, as stated above..

Yes. I think my current Rodek Amps is 4 x 75W & it could be insufficient to juice up the Dyn's. Maybe I'll try to bridge the 4 Ch to 2 Ch ouput & try it 1st before I go on my shopping spree. I was thinking of either Zapco or Diamond C7.

I only did Double layer sound deadening on the front doors & haven't got much experience in setting up EQ. I always create a mess when I played with EQ settings. I'm using OzoneMP presets for the moment.

It's been a never ending upgrade for me since I meddle with CarPC. I have tried onboard sound-->Audigy 2NX-->Xmod-->16 Bits USD DAC-->24Bits USB DAC. All upgrades made significant improvements & I'm hungry for more; I think the amps will be my last item before my wife finds out

Thanks for those advice mate

try the aiming thing and eq (there is a how to in the faq for this subform) also go stroll over to diy mobile audio forums and they have some tips on installing, aiming and tuning too.

you have great speakers, i think you're almost three (i never heard of your amp though :-( )

Here's a pic of my tweeters & Mids mounted on the A-pillar. Guess I don't have much choice now with regards to the positions & aim directions. The woofers are mounted onto the front stock door speakers position, with all holes sealed & 2 layers of deadening.
