I have a cheap 400w AC inverter powering my CarPC setup. I have always had problems with buzzing since I switched to this inverter. I recently changed my head unit and then the buzzing increased. I tried everything.. moving wires around, checking grounds, and even tried ground loop isolators. The ground loop isolator helped somewhat, but nothing acceptable. I finally tried grounding the case of the computer's power supply directly to the car with a foot of wire. This totally took ALL buzzing and noise away immediately. I have never had crisp and clean sound like this before. I am just putting it out there for anyone else having these issues.

This is one reason that inverters suck.
I would also guess that your PC PSU is a cheap no-name brand, as well.

My PSU is an IBM PSU and grounding the computer to the car totally took away all buzzing and noise. I get to use a cheap inverter without any of the consequences.
