Sound Quolity Loss over new wires - low mid rane and low high range

Hey all
I finally got to the part of audio in my CarPC
The first thing i found was the my sound quolity is not too good for peaceful driving on the road =)

I know i put cheap wires as back in last summer audio was not oon my agenda, but now I need to know how to avoid sound quolity loss.

My curent wires are AWG18 cupper... by the time i get from the trunk to headunit my high and midrange gets squashed. However same original wire thats AWG24 some how manages to get sound up front without any loss (it is shikded though)

So my question is, if i'm loosing quolity due to wires, what wires should I use?
Maybe low losss RF cable? But im so griddy to pay $1.50 feet of thta cable.

So any ideas?

Copper is copper, so unless your wires are just too small then you will not notice any difference between $100 Monster wire and bare coat hanger wire.

Could you give a run through on what all you are using for you setup (Onboard Sound with Headphone to RCA splitter to Brand X Heaunit, etc...) and your goals as well. I will help a lot in giving you the right advice.

Regular PC out audio in the trunk, goes to Mercedess headunit (notsure whos OEM make of it), i connect to CD input wires. Everything else stay the same => Bosse AMP connected to crappy boss speakers

So what is the 18awg and 24 awg you are mentioning?

AWG18 regular home speaker wires thats what I have
(I've seen some ppl usning AWG24 - CAT5 Network Cable, but I'm not sure if that is better option)

Unshielded direct from PC jack in trunk to headunit in front of car? Or some kind of CD changer adapter?

shilded jack, but unshilded wire...
i tried tried Car2Pc in the past but didnt like it as essentially it does same as cuting wire in the middle

I don't know what the headunit is expecting, but probably not line level from what you're describing. You should really consider hooking the Car2Pc back up so that you're converting the signal to CD changer the proper way, and use shielded stereo cable from the PC to the Car2Pc.

i looked at Car2PC schematics and it goes straigh to the headunit, thtas why i decided not to use it.

Well Im gonna go to my car and cut some wires... hopefully I'm not gona end up w/o audio at all before my cross country drive hehe

ok just finished my update... i added shilded foil tape and connected all shilds to common ground.

Now sound quolity is acceptable.

Now I have to find why my rear doors speakers have static noise that i can hear when olaying low volume. This thing was in the car forever, maybe connection problem on the amp or something.
