how much is too much...

I know that this is a noobie question, and I really do know my stuff about car stereos, but I learned it all from the internizle, (serizzle bizzle) and really have limited experience to like 3 or 4 other cars...none of which have gotten as advanced as I am right now...

My question is this...I have this amp...

and these speakers...

as well as these speakers...

I am thinking that I will have channels 3 and 4 bridged, and then put the ABC680V's on those...so I have 95 watts to each...

and then just have channels 1 and 2 be for each of the RF's...

I am not scared of the RF's, cause I will be running a jensen amp, which will most likely have to have the gain turned down on RF speakers...so jensen isn't really going to put out 75...probably 65 at most undistorted, and so thats fine, but I am worried about is that I will be overpowering the Audiobahns...I have no idea about the quality/reliability of these speakers, and I don't want to blow anything...

Also as a side note...If there isn't a control knob for the amp, and I am just controlling volume through windows/centrafuse, will I have a speaker hum/hiss when I am not playing it that loud...thanks for any help...

fosgate speakers are usually good, i would find something other then a jensen amp though. pioneer makes cheap amps that are extremely nice for the price. audiobahn speakers are never known to be amazing either, i would get the same brand speakers all around since youre buying new.

already bought everything...installing speakers tomarrow...amp already installed...

Not possible. Bridging channels 3 and 4 will give you 190 watts into 4 ohms. The amp is not rated for driving a 2-ohm load bridged. Hooking two 4-ohm speakers up to a single output will result in either a 2-ohm or 8-ohm load, depending on how you wire it. You don't want to wire it as 8-ohm, since you wouldn't get much power to the speakers then. Bridging channels 3/4 will also give you just a mono output for your two speakers. It would be better to just run each speaker to one of the 4 outputs on the amp for 75 watts per speaker.

oh yeah....well *****...I know that it would give me a mono output and I was depending on that but it totally slipped my mind that it would change the load...well damn...oh well...I will just make sure that they don't get distorted...

and the sound card is built into the mobo..I bought the compo prebuilt from mo-co-so cause it was cheaper than building...so it has output pins on the mobo to rca outputs that they installed on the case...i guess I'll figure out tomarrow...

edit: the reason I was asking about the hum was...cause have you ever turned speakers up really loud with nothing playing...and they have that specific sound...like a hissing but not very harsh...

I was wondering that if the amp doesn't have a knob, then it will be at full volume all of the time....and then it would have a small signal and you could hear that sound...but if it was meant with a HU, then i guess it would be the same way so I should be fine right...

All amps have that, its called signal-to-noise ratio (S/N ratio) or noise floor, it's just dependent on how much. And the particular situation you are talking about can usually be combated by proper tuning of the amp's gain control and not over-driving them.

first look at how much you are willing to spend then go from there. Soundstream, Orion, God amps (HiFonics) are great quality but depending on dealer can be pricey. Those are the amps I usually buy.
