Can I use two sound cards?

I am almost done with my system, and I just need to figure one more thing out. My head unit has an aux in, which will work just fine for almost all of my audio needs. The one thing I still need to figure out is the turn-by-turn voice prompts from the nav software. I am likely to be using another audio source (other than the aux) while using the nav, but want to get the voice prompts. I have a largely useless center channel speaker that I could dedicate to the nav. I was thinking of sending output from the on-board audio to this card for nav only, and use an external USB sound card to drive my aux in for everything else.

Will this work?

Is there a better way?

Thanks
