Make shift Line out From Old Car Tape Deck?

Hey guys...

I have an old 89 Cadillac and just recently my old tape deck stopped working...

Everything else works fine...

but I was wondering if I could somehow hook up my portable cd player up to my factory deck... by using the tape speaker outputs and an old headphone wire with a mini on the end for the input to the cd player??

If anyone could help me out with this or even let me know if this is possible of doing, Id like to know before I start to rip out my deck out for no reason...

thanks

remove your head unit, cut one end of the minijack wire off, it will have 3 wires (left+ right+ and a single negetive). Wire all speaker negetives to the single negetive, both left speaker positives the the left+ and both right speaker positives the the right+. I'm not sure what colors these wires would be on your cadillac's wiring harness so your best bet would be to get a wiring harness for like $20. The wires on there will be labelled and it will plug right in to the connector that you remove from your old deck.

Please note, this will look very ghetto since you will have wires hanging out to connect to your portable cd player and there will be a hole in the dash where your deck used to be.
