rember one thing, EQ's (little known fact) are only made (its main goal) to cut levels not boost, turning its gain down and not boosting your 400khz and up freqs. will and probaly would have removed most of your noise before doing anything else. one important thing to do most techs in my idustry dont get or understand is case grounding all componets. that means running a wire from case screw of the reciver to case screw of your amps, computers, eq's etc

agreed - grounding is as important as the power input, but people just seem to cheese it a lot.

btw, what industry are you in? only thing that came to mind when i thought of 14.4v was my cordless torque drill...

do you mean grounding all the equipment (eq, amps etc..) together and THEN grounding it to the car? or only grounding the equipment without grounding that to the car?

Ground all your componets the way they are supposed to be grounded, then run a wire from the head unit case to the next coments case and from that case to the next it creates more of a stable common ground, all your componets ground to their case.

Good reading here for you all to lear about GROUND LOOPS
