tv signal boster?

im after a tv antenna at the moment, im using my cars radio antenna now and it just doesnt work..

im wondering if its worth getting something with a boster in it.. do they work well??

ive got a ute with bars on the back and i was gona just put 2 30-40cm long flexy antenna's on the top of em.. would this be good?

my grandma's old school and she's got this big tv but no cable.

so we bought her an antenna booster from radio shack and it worked pretty well.

but i've heard car reception sucks period.

let us know if you find a good solution.
