Doesn't matter, anywhere in that lead is fine.

Well I moved the ground loop isolators next to the rca inputs on the amp as opposed to being with the computer in the front, and it cleared up the alternator whine!

ok damnit
ive read EVERY damn noise thread,, and just like the whole back and forth ****tle between the FM mod,, or tape acc battle,,,,,, there seems to be no "best solution"
here are my simple probs,, which i guess im lucky with as i just hooked it up ,,, finally
1- Fuzzy lines on the lilli,,,, which since im using the egg into the ligher im guessing is the prob..... i ran an extra power cable JUST IN CASE this happened from the battery,,,as my battery is in the trunk(mercedes)
¤solution¤--- hard wire the cable into some acc on the fuse box,, and ground as close as possible
2- Of course,, alternator noise,, and hums,, half is from the ****ty FM MOD,, which i already know the sounds of that,, using a ext cd player i can hear those,, slightly,, so i know those probs,, alternator noise though,,,, ive read loop iso's "yea dude they pwn,, get those" as well as " no mayne just fix your grounds,, thats all it is" all my grounds are deeply covered,,,, the little few i have (PSU, FM mod, i think thats it) but My PSU is grounded very close to the battery ground BUT even when using a EXTERNAL AC-DC pSU from the house,, i hear it,, im guessing the grounding of the LILLI is the prob,, im so stupid i have yet to unplug the VGA cord and try that,, its all aprt now,, and 3:36 AM,, so im shooting for what little time i haev to work on it tommorrow and know what im gonna try...
3- My damn MOrex CAR PSU,, not powering my HD,,, Something il have to test with a multimeter i presume,, which i dont have...
so main fixes,,
¤ hard wire lilli (with? or without? egg)
and hopefully thatll fix my Lilli lines and Alternator noise
any comments suggestions??
BTW,, i have a wooden case so no grounding of the case,, and no PSU case,,

wow
update,, i weent out there at 4 am as it was ****ing me off and i wanted to prove my theory,, and its true,, the lilli made nasty noise feedback,, looks like im hardiwiring tommorrow,, ill still use the cig positive but the chassis as the negative,, word to all if you have radiator noise,, check your LILLI wiring!!!!!!!
hope it removes the nasty lines as well 8-D
now for that damn PSU

You should use the egg, as it regulates the 12v to your screen.
It will work without, but can break easily, as your car's voltage can spike up to 16v.

In fact, using a wooden case lets interference in the computer AND lets the interference generated by the computer get out into the car.
I would cover the case with aluminium foil on the inside and ground it.
