New Soundcard = Lower Volume.

I just installed a Terratec Six Pack 5.1 card, I needed the optical input to upgrade my XMPCR, and I think the sound is much better quality than the onboard sound on the M10000. But, I don't get nearly the volume I used to get. I've messed around with all the available settings in the windows control panel, added all the extra's available and messed around with all the settings in the Terratec control panel. Turned up the gains on all channels on the Kenwood amp and still not very loud. Anybody run into a similair situation?

Peter

Does that card require more than one pci slot to allow S/PDIF connection?

If you use S/Pdif connection the line drivers are useless!!!
It doesn't require a pci slot!!!Just a slot on your case!!!!

Wow, I just looked back a little in the thread and discovered that you're the fellow that suggested line drivers in the first place. And now your telling me that they will be useless.

I was not thinking of using line drivers at all. I have a small pc case and one available pci slot. That means one slot on the back of the case also. However thats all the room i've got. So, if a sound card requires a pci slot and an exposed drive bay which is what I perceive the audigy to require in order to use the S/PDIF optical connection, that wont work for me. I dont know where you got the idea of line drivers in conjunction with S/PDIF, who gave you that idea?

Well, never mind, I just found one. has anyone had any issues with this device with regards to coming out of hybernation correctly?

Bingo! Thats what I'm looking for. Thanks!
Do you happen to know what that version is called?
Do you happen to know if you can monitor optical input?
