Question Forums for Car Stereo discussion?

This may be considered off topic here, but in my defense I already asked in General Discussion, no responses...

It is time to put together my sound system to go with my carPC.

Problem is that I don't know anything about mobile audio equipment like currrent brands, etc. I used to be a lot more into this stuff in the 80's so I know to look at THD numbers, watts, ohms, general tech info, but that's about it.

I did some searching here and found www.diyaudio.com. This one is a highly technical forum with topics like making your own amplifiers. I am looking for more general discussions about mass produced equipment like HU's, amps, speakers, and soundproofing...

Thanks all!

I like www.caraudioforum.com, but it cna be a pain sometimes separating the BS from the good stuff.

elite is one of my favorite, expect to communicate mostly with subjectivist snobs who use ultra high end gear.

if you ever want instant gratification, come on over to www.betteraudio.com/chat . its technically the CarAudioForum chat room (officially or not officially.) We have a good number of enthusiasts dedicated to helping out beginers to experienced people.

I used to own the room for a couple years, but have passed on the torch. you can also get server information there to connect directly through IRC, if you prefer that to web based chat.

Christopher Evert (geolemon) is a regular in there, as is the president of BEtter Audio Technologies. home audio buffs pass through, car enthusiasts, our newest regular is an IASCA SQ judge. Plus plain old regular enthusiasts with and without competition experience, with or without sales experience, with or without installer experience.

if the boards arent doing it for you, come on by.

My nick is semi
