Arrow Sub Positioning

Hey Everyone - I am getting ready to install 2 - 12" w6 from JL Audio in my Tahoe. I am going to build a custom box out of 1" MDF with a plexiglas window to look into the chamber. My question is - should I fire the subs - up, down, forward or backward?

What have you done? What kind of success?

Thanks! I am looking forward to some input!

Well, normal folks shoot em back or up. If they're right against the seat some people shoot em forwards to give you back massage type deal. never seen any facing down. mine are back, adn i like em that way.

I had one 10inch infinity in my explorer and it sounded real good when pointed to the back. Any other way just didnt' do it!
I pointed it up once behind the drivers seat and you couldn't even tell it was on!

So I'd say point it to the back. But it would be best if you test in your vehicle.

Oh yeah, put your hatch down when testing

I asked the same question here before. One of the respondants gave me this link: http://www.installer.com/tech/aiming.html

It's a good read. I had my sub facing forward and then tried it backward. Of the two, facing rear sounds better and hits harder
