What I would do is call Panasonic.

If I do that I know it's not gonna work afterwards. But on a serious note, I've seen it done, just can't remember where...

Done to your exact model, or just some other hu?
Alot of HU's have programmable input names just like home receivers, some have it some don't, chances are you saw it on one that was programmable...

Did you see this particular model? Are you sure you didnt just see a renameable one?
Maybe what would be easier is to put a controller BETWEEN your display controller in the HU and the displa that would allow anything through except for AUX, which would get replaced by CARPUTER, or whatever....

What is the model of the unit? I would think it has an option to rename it, my pioneer lets me name the AUX input to whatever I want.

No, it wasn't the same model as mine. I thought it was made by him.
It just looks so not OEM with AUX on the display...

I'm getting tired of your useless posts. If you know something about this, post, if not just do nothing.
First, you insult people on this board, then you write stuff apparentlly you don't know, and then you just post without any reason. If you don't have a clue about the thread DON'T POST.

I think your only option is to sell the unit you have and take some kind of loss on it and buy another unit. This is not as undesirable as it may seem. If you were willing to pay the factory guys to do it for you, I'd guess that would run you $100 in any case. Not to mention it does not seem to be possible to do this.
In addition, pulling the chip and reprogramming it would be risky, expensive, and might leave you with a non functional radio headunit shaped paperweight.
It seems like the best and most expedient solution is to sell the unit for $350 if you can get that, and buy a reprogrammable for a similar price. The effort will be much less, the cost about the same, and the likelihood of success higher than any other options.
