Connecting audio to H/U RCA's

2 quick questions.

Would connecting the line out from an Epia M10000 directly to the RCA cd changer inputs on the back of the H/U (Panasonic CQ-R115SEUC) be ok? I'm a bit loathe to try just in case it trashes the H/U.

Is there a work around for the din connector so that I can disconnect the cd changer and retain cd switch function on the H/U?

RCA's on the left are audio in, the other two are pre-amp.

Hey I also have a panasonic HU, with sane ports on the back, you can't connect them directly to and source for it to work as an aux port. I searched a lot to see if there was any way that I could keep my HU and use it but "NO", the rca for the cd changer only work for a panasonice cd changer that also gets plugged into the other connection, couldnt find a way around it, I wish someone on here comes up with a way to do it.
The pre amp out's can be used but then since they are rear preamp outs, your front speakers will still play whats in the cd or the radio, I found it very frustrating, but panasonic doesnt make a aux port conversion adapter...

Curiosity got the better of me. I plugged an audio cable from an old casio lcd tv headphone socket into the RCA's but leaving the cd changer din in place.

The head unit still displays the cd details but the audio from the tv came through the H/U with no problem.

Admittedly it was only on one channel but I think the audio jack on the tv is mono anyway. It seems as long as a cd is playing in the changer the H/U will stay in cd mode despite the different audio feed.

I guess the principal will be the same when connecting from the mobo. When my pc gets delivered I'll try it and let you know. Unless, of course, in the mean time someone else in here knows different.

Did you use the RCA's for the cd changer ? or the pre am out's ?, coz for mine when I used the cd changer RCA;s i didnt get any sound...

I just took out the cd changer leads and swapped with the ones from the tv, got sound straight away. Later tonight I will try it with portable cd player that has a stereo phono output and see if that works too.

Probably a dumb question but did you leave the cd din plug in, turn the volume up on what you had plugged in, etc?

If you mean to ask if I had anything plugged into the cd changer DIN... then no, I dont have a CD changer...

All I tried was plug in rca pair, and tried changing the vol level, but no luck after that either...

Hope I understood what you were trying to ask

Is the connection configuration on the back of your H/U the same as mine (see earlier photo)?

If so, you need to plug a changer into the din in order to access the cd facility. When the changer is connected and a cd is playing the audio is picked by the H/U irrespective, it would seem, of whether it's from the changer or another source.

I guess to sum it up - no cd changer = no audio from the RCA's. Unless of course someone here knows how to fool the H/U with a DIN thingy!

Yes, its the same config., as yours.

And I dont have a CD changer, so I guess no sound comming out of the RCA's ..
