Laptop compatibility with H/U
I just subscribed to napster and want to listen to my music in the car.
I want to allow my laptop to serve as the input for my H/U without using things that diminish the sound, i.e. headphone jack to RCA or fm wireless transmitters.
Is there anyway to use a usb connect from my computer to the H/U?
thanks, Ed

i'm going to guess not, but seeing as how I'm not an expert on this I'd like to see what other people have to say so I'm going to subscribe to this thread.

headphone jack to RCA will not reduce the sound quality, Does your HU have an AUX input?
If so, use that it was made for this type of application. Some are RCA some are the headphone jack type.
If not you will neet some interface. The HU in my Toyota has AUX in I use it with a headphone jack to RCA cable. The Stock HU in the Suburban does not have a CD changer or AUX in so I use a wired FM modulator from audiovox... sounds just fine.
No HU that I have heard of has a direct interface via USB.

here is a pic, its worked great. i used to get problems with the miniplugs pulling out of the computer so thats why i went this route and its actualy clearer. it just shows up as USB speakers to the computer no drivers needed.
