What type of car audio person are you?
Hey, just wondering what kind of stuff everyone goes for here. Here is a list of all I could think of
Are you an...
...OEM person
..."Autozone special" person (AKA Pyle, Dual, stuff like that)
...BB/CC person (AKA Kenwood, JVC, Sony, Lightning Audio, and stuff like that)
...Car audio specialty shop (AKA Excelon, Premier, Boston, Eclipse)
...Crutchifield person (combination of BB/CC, and some of the specialty stuff)
...Online brand person (AKA Adire Audio, RE, stuff like that)
...Top of the line audio shops (AKA the stores that sell the best Rainbow offers)
I myself am a mixture of the specialty shops and the online companies. Interested in seeing what everyone goes for here.
Matt

more of an OEM person myself. the sound the oem headunit/amp/speakers in our van provides is sufficient for my tastes.

Pretty diverse so far.
I have those CDT comps that scott fx mentioned, and an Eclipse Titanium sub (12"), but thats it so far. Future plans are for Adire Koda comps for front channel, Kicker amps (I dont think I could tell the difference between a Kicker and a PPI amp, and I hate the way the new PPI amps look, so I figure a pair of Kickers would look pretty cool), Premier HU, Knu Konceptz for wireing (except may go with Stinger for RCAs), and probably a yellowtop battery. Not set on the sub completly though, might sell the Eclipse and get 1 or 2 Adire Brahmas, or some XXX subs, but I think I will be happy with the Eclipse. Probably go with Rammat for deadening. Oh yeah, cant forget, my plans also include a CAR (98-99 Town Car Signature or Cartier). Basically, just waiting to find good deals on all the above, so when I get my next car, just put everything in.
For now, I have a nice "Concert Sound" setup in my Buick (I think thats the top of the line OEM, not sure).
Matt
Edit:
Yeah, my friend is going to have a wicked cool setup. He is going to have 6 12" Funky Pups powered by a Bazooka amp. The amp is in the mail, but the order on the Funky Pups has not gone through yet :\ If the 12s are out, then I will probably end up selling him 6 of my 8" pups.
Hopefully in a few weeks, I can post some pictures of the completed project. It will hit hard like so. Snoop will approve
