Phoenix Gold R5.1MT

Volume control?

Phoenix Gold R5.1MT

amplifer has TOSLINK (aka SPDIF ? ) input and on board Dolby 5.1 Processing on board. Looks like it would make a great amp to run directly off SPIDF out of via / shuttle using this cable

Searched the forums and it seems that there is no way to controll volume via touch screen with computer hardware. Amp does have IR sensor and a little remote but is there and way to have volume knob???

None that I know of. I just use the remote. If you need a knob you have to use one of the processors that output to amps. They come with HU face plate looking things with knobs. More expensive, more space(with amps), more power. If you big into audio equipment, it is the way to go. I was only looking to replace my HU function so the r5.1mt worked for me.

Right now I just use the IR remote. I hope to soon get a pac-audio decide which will turn my factory streak wheel controls into a universal remote and then use them to control the volume.

It doesn’t control the volume via the optical input, for sure. I'm not sure about the coax input. I haven't been able to make my coax inputs work at all.
