Cool case options --- yea! ---

ok, well this is a case question... but it has to do with an audio factor, so some of you guys might be better to answer... here it is.

i want to make my case so that it fits under my seat, and im not sure to make it from fiberglass, plexy, or sheet metal. all of which i can make pretty easy, i want one made from fiberglass, but i was thinking that a desktop computer case is made of metal to shield the computer rite? so if i have a case made from plexy or fiberglass there will be no shielding, so my audio may have interference. so would it be smart to line my fiberglass case with tinfoil??? has anyone had problems like this???

thanks,
~Matt

Im no expert on this but I really dont think that computer cases are made of metal (usually aluminum) for shielding. Aluminum for one is cheap, especially compared to plexiglass or fiberglass. Two, metal is the best of three for heat dissapation which is a major issue for computers and even more important in a car environment. There have been many members on these boards who have used plexiglass for cases (not so sure about fiberglass). Search for plexiglass cases. If line noise is your concern there are ways to try to fight this problem. You can search for this also since it has been covered many times also. I wouldnt be to concerned personally with the association of noise and the material your case is made out of. I would be very concerned though with heat if you use anything besides a metal type case though. I advise that you look into some good cooling solutions. With plexiglass I would use a minimum of two 80mm case fans. One for intake and the other for exhaust. I hope this helps.
