Newbie help

http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/showthre...hreadid=287509
The first post is mine. I was wondering if that setup would work and also, a member there was saying something about that a stereo deck has a much better sounding pre-out signal than, lets say, using this http://www.soundblaster.com/products/mp3+/ on a mini-itx board...
Just want to clear this kind of stuff up... thanx!

seeing as that device is external and is usb, id say it would end up being better quality than the onboard sound. how much? dont know. and i cant say whether or not it would be better than a stereo deck. thats pretty much dependant on what stereo deck you are talking about.

Oh yeah, i have definately done that. I guess i dont want to spend the money and time into doing this if isn't going to yield sound quality equal to just buying a good deck. Have any of you, who have gone to a straight carputer and skipped the deck, had any problems with sound quality?
