Im gona do a dual battery setup, and i was wondering where i can get cheap 2-4 Guage power wire.

What guage do you think i should use? im gona be running from under the hood to the rear of the car. should i use 2 GU?

The Guy at Pepboys said home depot. but i dont know.

Also what isolater is good?

hey use 0guage under the car wire tired to the body becasue 0 guage is hella thick to run inside... hope it helpd :-P

Really? i wont be pushing more then 80 amps from the alternator since the Isolator im looking at is only 80 amps, so you really think i need 0 Guage?

I think you will want to go with 0 for 80 amps. The reason for this is because how large of a stretch it is. If you only needed 10 feet of wire, 4 would do it, but I figured it at 18, and came up with 0 gauge. And dont run it under the car... do it the right way (under carpet).

Welding stores apparently sell the wire cheaper, but I really dont think its as nice as the Knu stuff (flexibility is really nice when installing, and I dont know how well the welding cable would flex)

Here is a link to a VERY cheap place to buy heavy wire. Welding cable is perfectly fine for power requirements, and is cheap enough where you can actually get enough cable for any power you might be running. I think I'll be running a couple shots of 4/0 gauge :P Now I just gotta make some connectors for it...

i would use 4 gauge, 80 amps is fine on 4 gauge cable up to well over 20 feet
