Angry argh! stupid (GM) monsoon...

long story short, i have the monsoon "9" speaker system in my '04 grand prix. i tried hooking up my alpine cda-9815 to the PAC os-2 interface, using rca connectors. now it has really loud amplifier turn-on thumps when i switch tracks, mute the volume, etc. it worked fine better when i was using the speaker outputs of the headunit, but the center speaker on the dash has always made a static noise when the adapter was used. reason i want to be able to use rca inputs is so i can use a dsp unit instead of a cd head unit, for space reasons. any good ideas? i'm pretty tempted just to gut the stupid thing and go all aftermarket . btw, all the functions for lighting, etc. are run through the trip computer, so i'd just need a chime/onstar interface if i wanted them badly enough.

im having similar annoyances with my 02' grand am and its monsoon system. Its one of the few headunits that doesnt easily support an aux in and, as you probably know, is a pain to swap a new headunit into.
