Angry Amp Problems/not sure what to do/about to use hammer

I have an amp that i recently got fixed. Everything on it works fine except for one thing. At idle, when its just sitting there, it is pulling 8 amps. It should be pulling at most like 1.4 amps. I dont know if this is gonna cause any long term problems. It has drained the battery as of yet but im told it will in a matter of time. Is there anyway to possibly wire in a switch to cut power completely if i want too? Or is this even a problem i need to worry about?

I have no idea how this could happen in the first place cuz i thought an amp sat there not drawing any current unless the remote told it to turn on. All i know is ive had enough problems with this amp and it freaking cost a ton brand new and its out of warranty and i just want it to work.

Someone anyone please help

Sorry its all my bad i had this issue. Thanks Doc for the help. I got excited about getting the amp back and forgot to take the paint off my grounding spot on the body. Fixed the whole issue. Dont know why it caused the problem i had but everything is working fine and im back bangin out. thanks again doc your mention of the ground helped my brain jump start again.
