Head Unit 'code' - help!

The other day I disconnected my head unit, when I connected it back up it says 'code'. No problem, I thought, I have the code written in the manual.
Entered the code, asks again
Entered again, asks again
Entered onced more then says wait!!

wait means it's locked out and you have to wait 30 mins until you can try again. Hmmm, strange. Checked the serial number written on the same page next to the code with the one on the HU chassis - it matches!. Contact garage where the Jeep was originally sold, they give me the same code!!
Garage says they've seen this before and they just change the HU, if it's under warranty - free, if it's not...500 Euros!!!

So, wtf! Is there any way I can get this head unit working again?

So you bought it second hand? Did the previous owner change the code? Is this possible?

Contact your local Jeep dealership parts department. They should be able to help you out. There is proably a way to reset the radio's code.

The garage I contacted is a Jeep dealership. I thought they'd know something.

Hate to say it, but I would break out the 500E lube, and get ready. Sounds like your only solution is a new unit.

But, before that, what about searching the Jeep forums. Try this one for size.

firts link says:

We can help!

At radio-code.com we have a complete line of radio code input manuals that include step by step instructions.

Code input information guides include:

How to input your radio unlock code safely! (Improper radio code entry can cause Radio "Lock up")

What to do with information displayed on your radio such as: "Lock" - "Safe" - "Codee"- "Inop"- "err1" and many others!
How to enter a 0 for gm radio unlock code!

What to do if your radio will not except your user pass code and much more!

Theftlock
These guides show how to:

Add your personal code

Remove your personal code

Enter override code

So that mean you input the code wrong or something happend in the prosess so is lock.

Also that in the theftlock sistems you can enter you own code so maybe the firts owner changed it.

I get your trying to help. BUT, he has a JEEP, and none of the sites you linked to cover the jeep brand. None of them.
