Sub Dimensions question

Hey all, I'm building my first sub box for a single 10" for my truck. I just had a question regarding the "Top Mount Depth" for subs. Here's a picture:

Is it referring to D1, D2, or D3? I designed the box for D1, but I was thinking maybe I could slim it down a bit...

Thanks all!

If I'm reading the diagram and the question properly (which I may not be) D3 should be the top mount depth.

None of those dimensions represent depth. Depth is how much of the speaker protrudes into the enclosure. Measure from the tip of the magnet to the back of the baskets mounting flange.

Now that I look at the picture it would appear that it is D3...my bad. D3 looks like the measurement starts at the back of the basket and goes to the back of the magnet. Sometimes I post too quickly...sorry.
